As the longest standing Principal it's my honour to welcome you to Springbrook State School — a small school with a big heart, nestled in the beautiful Gold Coast hinterland and surrounded by the natural wonder of Springbrook National Park.

Our small size is one of our greatest strengths. It allows us to know every student and family well, build strong relationships and provide a supportive learning environment where each child is valued, challenged and encouraged to achieve their personal best. Our spacious grounds, natural surroundings and close-knit community provide a unique setting in which children can learn, play and grow.

Our motto, “Learning and Growing Together,” reflects the way we work as a school. Students, staff, families and community members all play an important role in creating a positive and successful learning environment. We value genuine partnerships with families and believe that strong relationships between home and school make a meaningful difference to student learning and wellbeing.

Students learn in multi-age classrooms, which encourage collaboration, leadership, independence and peer support. Teachers use evidence-informed practices, explicit instruction and targeted support to respond to the individual learning needs of students. Small class sizes allow our staff to closely monitor progress, provide timely feedback and create learning experiences that are engaging, purposeful and appropriately challenging.

We are proud to be a Positive Behaviour for Learning school. Our S.T.A.R. values — Safe, Thoughtful, Accountable and Respectful — guide our expectations, decisions and interactions each day. These values are explicitly taught, positively reinforced and embedded throughout school life, helping students develop the skills and dispositions they need to contribute positively at school and beyond.

Learning at Springbrook extends beyond the classroom. Students participate in sporting carnivals, district and regional pathways, public speaking, instrumental music, The Arts, excursions, camps and a range of community events. These opportunities allow students to develop confidence, resilience, teamwork and a willingness to try new things.

Community is at the heart of Springbrook State School. Families are welcomed and encouraged to be actively involved in school life, and we value the strong connections we share with local organisations and the wider mountain community.

Springbrook State School is a warm, inclusive and vibrant place where students are known, supported and encouraged to thrive. We are proud of our school, our students and the strong sense of belonging that makes our community so special.
